The discreet Shelly Plus Smoke connected smoke detector, measuring 86 × 31 mm and designed to last ten years, continuously monitors your home thanks to its high-sensitivity photoelectric detection technology. A single CR123A battery provides up to five years of autonomy. It can be controlled from the Shelly Smart Control app, integrated via MQTT into Home Assistant, and sends instant alerts to your smartphone at the slightest detection, wherever you are.
Photoelectric detection, audible alarm and remote alerts for seamless protection
The photoelectric technology of the Shelly Plus Smoke connected smoke detector detects slow, smouldering smoke, often responsible for the most dangerous domestic fires, with a reactivity superior to conventional ionic detectors. As soon as smoke is identified, the audible alarm sounds locally and a notification is sent instantly to your smartphone. A silent mode allows the alarm to be temporarily paused, for example during cooking that generates steam. The LED indicator shows the status of the sensor in real time, and a low battery alert warns before the level becomes critical. Ten webhooks with two URLs per trigger allow detection to be coupled with home automation on other devices.
The Shelly Plus Smoke connected smoke detector can be installed on the ceiling in minutes, without a hub
No hub or gateway is required: the Shelly Plus Smoke connected smoke detector connects directly to your 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi network and is configured from the Shelly Smart Control app. It attaches to the ceiling via its included mounting plate, with a Wi-Fi range of up to 30 meters indoors. Its CR123A battery, with no IATA transport restrictions, allows it to be ordered and received without logistical constraints. MQTT compatible for direct integration with Home Assistant, openHAB, and open-source home automation platforms, it operates from 0°C to 55°C and supports up to 95%RH for use in various environments.
FAQ
What is the difference between a photoelectric detector and an ionization detector?
A photoelectric detector like the Shelly Plus Smoke reacts more quickly to slow, dense smoke generated by smouldering fires, which account for the majority of domestic fires. Ionization detectors are more responsive to open flames but less effective on thick smoke.
Does the sensor work without an internet connection?
The local audible alarm triggers without an internet connection. However, push alerts on your smartphone and automations via webhooks require an active Wi-Fi connection to function.
Does the battery need to be replaced regularly?
The included CR123A battery offers up to five years of autonomy with the original battery. A low battery alert is sent via the app before the level becomes critical, so you're never caught off guard.
