Shelly 1PM Mini Gen3: The ultra-compact Wi-Fi relay with power consumption meter With its unparalleled slim dimensions (29 × 34 × 16 mm) and a weight of only 18 grams, the Shelly 1PM Mini Gen3 is one of the smallest connected micromodules on the market. It can be installed in the most crowded flush-mounted boxes, directly behind your light switches or power outlets. Capable of controlling a circuit up to 8A (2000W at 240V AC), it integrates a real-time power meter, all manageable without a hub from the Shelly Smart Control application via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Important: This module absolutely requires wiring with both Phase and Neutral.
See exactly what each device consumes, in real time
Thanks to its integrated power metering function (PM = Power Metering), the 1PM Mini Gen3 monitors the electricity consumption of your lights, fans, or appliances in real time. It also offers a free and detailed history to analyze your energy expenditure. For safety, the module protects your equipment with programmable automatic cut-offs in case of overvoltage, overcurrent, power overload, or internal overheating.
The Shelly 1PM Mini Gen3 smart Wi-Fi relay with measurement can be installed anywhere, even in the narrowest boxes
Its tiny size of 29 × 34 × 16 mm allows it to fit into the most compact flush-mounted boxes, where most smart modules do not. The 1PM Mini Gen3 supports up to 8A at 240V AC for 2000W, which covers lighting, fans, door locks, small convection heaters, and most common household appliances. USB-C charging is not available on this model; it only operates wired to the electrical circuit.
Local scripting, KNX support, Wi-Fi repeater, and Home Assistant integration
Powered by a powerful ESP32 chip (with 8 MB flash memory), the Shelly 1PM Mini Gen3 caters to both general users and home automation enthusiasts. It features a local scripting engine, 20 webhooks, MQTT, WebSocket, HTTPS, UDP, KVS support, and KNXnet/IP compatibility. It also acts as a Wi-Fi repeater and Bluetooth (BLE) gateway. It integrates natively and without a cloud into Home Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home.
FAQ
What is the difference between the 1PM Mini Gen3 and the 1 Mini Gen3?
The 1PM Mini Gen3 includes a power meter that measures the electricity consumption of the connected load. The classic 1 Mini Gen3 has exactly the same dimensions but has a dry contact output (potential-free) without consumption measurement. If you want to track your energy consumption, choose the 1PM version.
Can the Shelly 1PM Mini Gen3 control a connected door lock?
Yes, with its maximum current of 8A and momentary (pulse) switching mode, it is perfectly suited for controlling an electric lock or strike, with activation on demand from the application or through automation.
Does power measurement require a paid subscription?
No, storing consumption data in the Shelly cloud is free. You access the history from the Shelly Smart Control application at no extra cost.
Does the Shelly 1PM Mini Gen3 require a neutral wire?
Yes, the Neutral wire is absolutely required to power the module and operate the integrated power measurement circuit.
Can a high-amperage appliance (e.g., washing machine, 3000W heater) be connected to it?
No. The Shelly 1PM Mini Gen3 is limited to a maximum load of 8 Amps (i.e., 2000 Watts at 240V AC). For larger loads (up to 16A / 3680W), we recommend using the Shelly Plus 1PM or Shelly 1PM Gen3 (standard format) model.
