The Aqara P2 motion and light sensor features two distinct sensors: an infrared sensor for presence detection up to 7 meters, and a light sensor that can be used independently for automations based on ambient light. For example, you can program your lights to turn on only when the room is dark and presence is detected, or adjust your blinds based on sunlight. Automations run locally, without the cloud, and continue to function even if the internet connection is lost.

The Aqara P2 motion and light sensor comes with a 360° adjustable stand that allows installation on a wall, ceiling, or any other surface, without wiring. Two included CR2450 batteries provide up to two years of battery life, one of the longest among Matter over Thread sensors on the market.
