Shelly 1 Mini Gen4: the ultra-compact multi-protocol dry contact relay (Wi-Fi 6, Zigbee 3.0 & Matter) With its record dimensions of 29 × 34 × 16 mm and weighing only 19 grams, the Shelly 1 Mini Gen4 fits into the narrowest junction boxes and wall boxes. Its dry contact (potential-free) output makes it the ideal module for switching low or high voltage circuits (gates, electronic boards, boilers, electric strikes or lighting up to 8A). Thanks to the ESP32-C6 chip, it integrates Wi-Fi 6, Zigbee 3.0, Bluetooth 5.0, and the universal Matter protocol.
Wi-Fi 6, Zigbee 3.0 or Bluetooth: choose the right protocol for your installation
The 1 Mini Gen4 gives you the choice of integration: connect it directly via Wi-Fi 6 without a hub, or integrate it into your Zigbee 3.0 network (where it also acts as a signal repeater). Its Matter certification ensures native compatibility with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and SmartThings. Its local scripting engine, MQTT support, 20 webhooks, and WebSocket guarantee your scenes and schedules will function even without an internet connection.
Potential-free dry contact: absolute versatility
Unlike voltage-switched modules, the Shelly 1 Mini Gen4's dry contact output is isolated from its power supply. It can control:
Thermostat inputs for boilers or heat pumps.
Gate and garage door motorization boards.
Electric strikes, intercoms, and access control systems.
Lighting circuits or classic impulse relays (up to 8A / 2000W).
Multi-protocol (Wi-Fi 6, Zigbee 3.0, Matter) and local automations

FAQ
What is the difference between the 1 Mini Gen4 and the 1PM Mini Gen4?
The 1PM Mini Gen4 includes a power meter that measures real-time consumption and protects the device with automatic shutdown in case of overload. The 1 Mini Gen4 does not have these functions but features potential-free dry contacts, making it suitable for contactors and access control equipment.
Is the Shelly 1 Mini Gen4 compatible with Apple HomeKit via Matter?
Yes. Thanks to Matter certification, it integrates directly into the Apple Home app via a Matter controller (e.g., Apple HomePod or Apple TV) for seamless voice control with Siri.
Can I switch between Wi-Fi and Zigbee after installation?
The protocol choice is made during the initial configuration in the Shelly Smart Control application. Changing the protocol requires reconfiguring the device. Consult the Shelly documentation for the appropriate procedure.
Can this module be used to control a garage door or gate?
Yes, absolutely. Its Normally Open (NO) dry contact allows sending an impulse (timed cut-off / auto-off mode) to simulate pressing a push button on a gate or garage door motorization system.
