SONOFF DUALR3 Lite Dual Channel Wi-Fi Smart Switch

Thanks to its included removable DIN rail mount, the SONOFF DUALR3 Lite can be installed both in an electrical panel and behind a double switch in a suitable flush-mounted box. Compatible with a 100-240 V AC power supply (phase and neutral required), it can control two independent circuits up to 10 A per channel, within the limit of 15 A total, or a bidirectional motor up to 1 A. Operating directly on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, it does not require any additional hub to be used with the eWeLink app.

 

Switching mode and motor mode: two uses in one module

The DUALR3 Lite offers two modes suitable for different uses.

In switching mode, each channel operates independently to control two distinct circuits (lighting, ventilation, switched outlets, etc.), with its own schedules, timers, and smart scenes.

In motor mode, the two relays control a bidirectional motor for roller shutters, blinds, or motorized curtains. After calibrating the travel time, the module allows for percentage-based opening control as well as open, stop, and close commands. The state memory after a power outage remains fully configurable (on, off, or last state).

 

Local control, voice assistants, and Home Assistant integration

Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, IFTTT and Alice, the DUALR3 Lite integrates easily into most home automation ecosystems.

Its LAN mode allows for local control from the eWeLink app when the smartphone and the module are connected to the same local network, even in case of an internet outage.

For advanced users, it is also compatible with Home Assistant via the SonoffLAN integration, allowing for fast local operation. Thanks to its architecture based on an ESP32 chip, it is also used by the community for custom projects under ESPHome, depending on the needs of each installation.

Flexible installation and advanced automations

The DUALR3 Lite supports three external control modes (pulse, toggle and SPDT/two-way), making it easy to integrate into existing electrical installations without modifying the switch wiring.

FAQ

Can the DUALR3 Lite control roller shutters with precise opening control?

The DUALR3 Lite has a motor mode allowing percentage control after calibration, but without end-of-travel detection. It is not suitable for precise calibrated control of motorized blinds requiring limit position management. For complete control, the full DUALR3 version is recommended.

Can both channels be used independently for two different devices?

Yes, in switching mode, each channel is completely independent with its own schedules, timers, smart scenes and state memory. It is possible to control two completely distinct loads from a single module.

Is the DUALR3 Lite compatible with Apple HomeKit?

No, the DUALR3 Lite works via the eWeLink app and is compatible with Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, IFTTT, and Alice, but does not natively support Apple HomeKit.

Does the DUALR3 Lite require a neutral wire?

Yes. The module must be powered by a phase and a neutral to function correctly. It is therefore not suitable for installations without a neutral wire in the flush-mounted box.

 

Is the DUALR3 Lite compatible with Home Assistant?

Yes. The module can be integrated into Home Assistant via SonoffLAN for local control. Experienced users can also use it in projects based on ESPHome, depending on their home automation architecture.
